I woke up this morning
and to my suprise
there was something missing
I could see it in my eyes

Looking in the mirror
something was not right
maybee just a shadow
cast from the bedroom light

I shrug and get moving
into the pattern of the day
when another passing mirror
reflects me back again

The image that is there
is not one I know
my eyes are a little darker
they seem to have lost their glow

Looking a little harder
staring into my own eyes
Its here I found I am trying
to put on a disguise

How can I face myself
when I can not face you
for knowing we cant be together
has broken me in two

Its taken the shine from my eyes
and cast a shadow dark
for eyes are the windows
looking straight into my heart

Expressions,
are the most important aspects, they create impressions

very touching poem...great truth penned...we may fool others but we cannot hide from ourselves!!!Don't you wish mirrors had never been invented, then we might have been able to kid ourselves!!!

Thank you all for your loving words.

I feel I have lost yes, but I know that I am loved. It is a situation that can not go beyond where it is, even when both our hearts agree that we are soul mates and should be together.

As the saying goes, another time, another place, but in each others hearts we will remain.
