She was frivolous thin and tan. I was forty and sick of my job. She was talkative, naked except for my shirt. She told me she was chilled, I covered her, caressed her thigh. She said she was bored, I read her poems about us written long ago. When she wondered at my method, I realized the cold, stared at the sand rushing back to the undertow |

This is a bit spooky! It may be that I've seen too many movies, but this seems like a murder/suicide. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Does feel like a lost cause...something no one can stop, the way change can come over a person we think we know... |

That murder /suicide thing is an interesting take. Ambiguity intended, but not that intense. thanks though. |

I read this as very sensual writing. Kathleen--(Kay) |

(sigh) Soooooooo thoughtful and expressive, sweet friend, it seems everyone has different perceptions of this poem, but the way I saw it is what Irish Rose described, a sensual poem about being tossed in with the waves and landing on a lovers paradise! (big hugggsssss) Maybe I'll read it again too! We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is fabulous! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Craig, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |
