Keep holding me like no one has ever tried to do before, while we settle our togetherness into the gentle embrace of our mutual limitations If it pleases you to stay long enough to know me well past this sunrise, please do. I ask nothing better than for the chance to love myself a little kinder than I ever did before you came, for you to teach me a newer language in the distended bareness of your throat, couched in the trusting voicelessness of honest warmth When the sun starts peeling off the shadows between the blinds, I'll let you make up your mind then, for both of us, if this is all worth keeping... Like every de javu fullness of a sudden revelation, when one precise combination of angle and sight brings forth all the special worth of a long-forgotten joy, or the poignancy of an elusive grief, now remembered, twice magnified; as if we've lived, tasted, understood halfway like this before, in another life... I'll let you tell me then if together we might reach high enough to touch the beauty of a single star And if you can tell me all these...and soon... please do |
