My heart aches whenever I
Think on all the times I cry
In the dark I wonder why
You had to leave, why did you die?

Although my grief is nearly done
Of friendship held through days of fun
Please understand you were the one
My moon and stars my light and sun

In grief I cannot tell how I
Felt your touch within my eye
You were there - we touched the sky
And held it all in life gone by

Life gone by - a silly phrase
When it holds our hope and praise
But life is life and won't erase
Death's dark hand to all life raze

You are gone and I remain
Walk this life on barren plain
Sing my songs of sad refrain
Yet your spirit still remains

I wait here my friend and I
Yearn to meet you in the sky
My heart grieves with ancient try
Soon it will cease and I shall die

My heart aches - in physical
Of life half empty not half full
To overcome the mystical
To wax and wane with earthy pull

Faith has failed and grief is near
I have overcome my fear
My heart aches - I shed a tear
I'll join you soon in after-here

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

This is good.  Very expressive.  But the ending is a little disturbing; I hope this is just poetic license.

There's a comfort in knowing that some loves can never be conquered by death... but there's also much sadness - the heart of the one left missing never stops yearning. You've written this very well in this beautiful poem.

I hope not too soon.
I am selfish and want to enjoy more of your writing for a long time to come

Oh Kethry, this so touched me. How sad, and I am so sorry. It is so good to still remember and love and be able to write it all down. Powerful and sad, floria

Your poetry of sadness, but yet, anticipation of joy, is very beautiful. Thank you for sharing it. May God comfort your soul and forever bless you, Kethry. You are a very sweet and wonderully talented poet, and I love your poems.

Hello Lynne

We must have been on the same wavelength, as I have just posted one about grief.

Your words were so sad yet beautiful and I could relate so very well to this.  Beautifully done!

Take care....Sue
