My Little Feet

I cannot walk a step further
Life has reached its destination
Old and weary, years in motion
All I can do now is look for heaven's star

Before I leave, I wish I could remember
The one thing that got me on the way
My first step with my little feet
In my memory given to me by my mother

I struggled with every step
As I stumbled each time, I rose again
Gave myself another chance
For there was so much to gain

I do recall however, that each time I fell
In this life of mine which was hell
I found the courage to rise above all
For my little feet helped me to be tall

As I close my eyes I feel lonely
Deep in my sorrow a sense so hollow
But each time I picture my little feet
I realise they walked towards heaven's gate

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
(Daniel J D)

Oh my gosh...this poem is stunning...stay on your feet, my friend, for even though you life has been filled with pain it has given you the gift of words and through your words you reach out across the miles and touch us all with the wonder of your gentleness. *sigh* I love this poem...it says so much. Stant tall and proud and keep walking... **extra big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Very heartfelt Daniel, much feeling in this poem. First steps teach a lot, Mothers teach a lot, we carry it with us through out our lifetime, good write. floria

wonderful poem of inspiration, Daniel, I too enjoyed the metaphor and sometimes wonder how I get around with such tiny feet
