Fade Away
----------

Ring the bells that time forgot
Teach the lessons your father taught
Turn your soul inside-out
Light the flame and kill the doubt

An ancient wind, too cold to feel
It takes my soul, and starts to heal
It wraps me up, and chills my mind
All sickness, sadness, left behind

This meadow light, a peachy glow
Engulfs my spirit, from head to toe
My heart warms up, begins to love
My home's not here, it's up above

An ocean blue, deep as could be
The steady peace embraces me
I'm in a place, relaxing blue
It reminds me of my love for you

And in the end, the flame burns out
The cold is mild, warmth done without
No more worry within me
I'm happy now, my soul is free..

I appreciate your comments, friends.. I have posted my work at other forums (I just started writing 2 days ago, and I wanted some critisizm).. and I can't seem to get any attention. It's great to hear what people think, and not be overlooked.  Thank you both so much!

Hello RottenApples... Welcome to Passion in Poetry..

Your work doesn't seem like that of a beginner.  You have a good sense of meter and rhyme.  We have several forums here, this being "Open" or the most active.  This forums is one of "appreciating" others' posts.

If you're looking for good critiques, then do take time to try our "Critical Analysis" forum.  Our members there will be very happy to give you some valuable feedback.

Check your email for a special greeting..

Johnny come lately,
did you bring your seeds,
shall you plant an orchard
or ignore the weeds.

Not so rotten

Rotten apples?  I think not!  No rotten tomatoes, either!  Welcome to Passions!
