I'M ONLY KIDDING FOR HUMOR, I'M REALLY NOT THIS BAD:

FEB-U-ARY SECOND

I wondered what to have for dinner
on Feb-u-ary second.
It seemed that it should something
really extra special.

But after all it wasn’t quite
Valentine’s Day.
So I wasn’t sure what to do
to make the day quite gay.

There were shadows on the lawn
and everywhere I looked.
there were shadows in the crannies
and in ev’ry tiny nook.

There were shadows on my heart
echoes of memories galore
and I wondered just what to do
to even up the score.

Winter days and springing days
were having a detente
deciding who would rule the roost
for ensuing days they’ll haunt.

I didn’t think it should be ground beef
for ground pork seemed more fitting
to go with this Ground Hog day
when he would surely do the bidding.

If he saw his shadow,
he would make the grand decision
on whether it would winter be
with snow flurries that would glisten.

As I look around at sunshine
I'm giving you the scoop,
since there's a lot more winter,
I'll have some ground hog soup

Some carrot cake, muffins,
and sweet potato pie,
hot chocolate for drinking
‘neath a graying winter sky.

But for today, I tell you friend,
I’m going to sing and dance and play,
‘neath the sunbeams that glisten off
the browned and yellow hay.

Maybe I'll make a coat
out of lovely ground hog fur
so for the rest of winter
they'll all be saying "Brrrrrrrrr!"

Yum, yum, ground hog soup, slurp!

VAS....LOL, poor little groundhog. You woudn't do that to that innocent little critter,........would you?

afterall he's my cousin. Next thing I know, you'll be having Chipmunk stew!!!!!!!!

hmmm, maybe, but prob'ly not cuz it'd take a lotta skinnin' 'fore I had enuf to fill me up, maybe just some ground hog pup

Cute! Let's just hope this GroundHog Day doesn't repeat itself or you will be eating groundhog soup for a awile!
