Sleepy River

Sleepy River in sleepy hollow
Where dwells the lark and song of swallow
By the river deer, stag and fawn
Call me from awakening dawn

See the river travel slowly
Makes my heart find calm and lowly
Ripples glisten in the sun
Oh! Travel on unruffled one

Lazy River about in winding
Speaks in whispers never minding
Burbles over stones in streams
Soft of hope and song of dreams

Soft the river dances lightly
Over obstacles more sprightly
Down to find the rushing sea
Merging all to blend with thee

River sighing near the levy
Sweet scents the air of life's bold bevy
Sleepy river flows on to sea
Leaving calm and peace with  me

To the river slow in banking
I will sing a song of thanking
As it wends out to the brine
It leaves slow dreams for all mankind

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

A lot beauty in this one Keth!
I'd say you've answered the challenge very well! Captured the river mood real well!
Good writing!

Keth darling heart sister and holder of the stars light this is truly beautiful, okay you knew I’d say that because I’ve already told you what I think of this. You know I love it. It flows soooooooooo smoothly, literally a river of delight

Absolutely divine writing darling heart, and you say my Sleepy River was perfection nooooo this is perfection, absolutely fabulous. I’m almost speechless

I love it I love it I love it

Sleepy river calls you hear it beckon on
It whispers very softly listen to my song
Come and sail the rapids float in starry night
Yield to its song sail into moonlight

Float down Sleepy River in dreamy peace
Feel delight as all your troubles cease
Melting into moonlight fading into dream
Sail into wonder in Sleepy River’s stream

Love and warm stuff
As always
Slushy

ethome,
I like anything to do with the outdoors,  I choose picnics over formal dining, daisies over florist's cuts, rivers over the sounds of the city. *sigh* So this river write was easy.

Victoria,
I was pretending in this...pretending I was taking a lazy boat trip but now I am moist from the spray.

Silver Streak,
thanks... why don't you splash right in to this challenge.

Noah,
Well I have a natural affinity with water...some people would go so far as to say I'm all wet...And I promise not to mention Marsha's name here.

Enchantress,
I don't know if it was a formal challenge...however the basis is this write a pice using the images or form of a sleepy river ...so it could be a shaped piece which I'm too lazy to do or include the words in the title or...

Marsha,
you are sending me a waterfall of compliments and I'm already damp. *HuGS*

Sunshine,
if the truth is known...I left in a fit of pique. My writing never ceased, it only ceased to overwhelm me.

strbbux,
Thank you I tried to recreate the flow of a river.

Keth

I like what you did with this, Kethry, it DOES indeed flow......
