Sleepy River

When the night is calling and you’ve had a busy day
Slip into gentle slumber as on your bed you lay
Waiting for you to board her is the Ship of Dreams
Ready to take you sailing on Sleepy River’s streams
Cast off from the jetty and set yourself adrift
Yield to the magic of dream times softest gift
Sleepy River is beckoning float throughout the night
Ready to awaken somewhere in the dawn’s new light

Float on Sleepy River past the shadows of despair
Sailing into starlight guided by loving care
Enjoy the Ship of Dreams it’s a palace of delight
There’s magic all around you on this ship tonight
Dreams that offer wonder fill your very soul
These are the promises that will make you whole
Sleepy River commands you to cast your cares away
Sail on into moonbeams prepare yourself for day

The stars on the water reflect back dreamers sight
Sleepy River runs on never pausing in the night
Daylight Ocean waits to receive it at the bend
Ever calling onward its sleepy-time friend
From the ship you’ll disembark at the break of day
Then the Ship of Dreams will softly fade away
Sleepy River runs into the arms of Daylight Sea
And I hear it calling wait for me yes wait for me

Marsha

Marsha my love,
to call this perfection...would be an understatement. You dearheart are outclassing me at every turn...and I love the spirit of you that rises to every challenge, on every occasion.

Don't soar too high love for my wings are made of brass and sealed in wax. I would chase the clouds with you but don't ask me to catch the sun...only the angels such as you can do that.

Keth

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Kethry is right, dear Marsha. You and your angel wings are soaring into the bluest heavens! You are writing superior content beautifully structured from wonderful inspiration. All I can say, Marsha, is:

As I float down sleepy river in peace
Beautiful singing, I hear from the blue?
For only angels sing with such release
Like harps playing, calling me to you.

I look up to heavenly skies afar
In clear skies above to angelic sounds
And there you are pretty twinkling star
Spreading your poetic joy wings around.

Over my sleepy river.

Mushy...you have gone and done it...Now we
might as well pack our bags...go off to
Scotland or some other dreary place over
there....and have some fish and chips...
cause you have already met the challenge...
