ImmortalSoul

Immortal soul, in all of time
one fleeting moment have you dwelt
within this aging breast of mine
with all the sorrows it has felt

Now fly away and take your leave
for I’ll not go along with you
To dust I’ll turn ’neath autumn leaf
below the wet of morning dew

To heaven you will swiftly sail
The moons and stars to light your face
You’ll travel on a moonbeam’s tail
And fly the sky at moonbeams’ pace

Farewell, my friend, life taught us love
Perhaps you will return again
To dwell within the hollows of
Another tender poet’s pen

Immortal soul, fly up, be gone!
The time has come for us to part
Now take with you to heaven’s throng
The love within this broken heart

Have to agree with Karilea, I have grown to expect only the best from your pen, and I am never dissapointed, never!  This was fantastic writing of a very painful subject.
