To Kiss a Friend

Stray strands of hair between her lips,
I brushed aside with fingertips.
No words were spoken, eyes said much.
She longed for a more tender touch.

I kissed her deeply, felt her tense.
This really did not make much sense,
for we were friends, this wasn’t right,
but even so, I pulled her tight.

A journey of discovery,
of what, through touch, our hands might see.
She whispered words I’ll not forget.
She said, “I do not feel regret.”

Our friendship, closer than before.
Each day I find I love her more.

Oh Michael I love this!  I too believe that you should start out as friends first and then see where it goes from there....from the sounds of this kiss, things are going uphill from here!

Michael:

A kiss can make a powerful connection between two people who already love.  Enjoyed your poem, my friend.

Everyone, thank you for your kind replies, but the poem is only fantasy.     Or is it?  LOL!
