A balmy day A clear blue sky A soaring raptor To catch the eye The currents Hold her wings Aloft, Streamlined feathers, Smooth and soft Her shadow small Against the sun Will melt away When the day is done But oh! A shriek Now pierces the air For the weapon Caught her unaware Her wings fold As she plummets To unforgiving earth, Her shadow growing Larger, widening Her girth She struggles As she lies Helpless on the ground Who could ever Profess to shooting A hawke with an arrow? Cupid. I am the hawke Impaled upon his arrow's Shaft. As my lifeblood drains Upon the ground, I realize love Shot me down. |

You took me by surprise with this one, Lady. The ending hurts. Well done! |
