Long before this tale was scripted, mind the hour has passed for play, bound in volumes of encrypted verses, knights did dragons slay. Tasks of daylight, hours behind us, seek the solace of our beds, where prepared for us a story, presently, will soon be read. 'Neath those covers, warm and comfy lies a certain castle keep. When into this kingdom come, be not alarmed, there-in lay sleep. Gathered wool of countless ages, rest the words of sage and fools, on whose crisp white sheets and pages flow their dreams from slumbered pools. Murmuring their mythic racket, like a joyful horde of elves. Gone, the dust, brushed from their jackets, now awakened from their shelves. Here might blend imaginations, worthy of their trust to keep, with resounding intonations of the dreamer, sound asleep. Evermores' bright moons in crescent, rumored here-in to be found, not of future, past, or present, light the way to hallowed ground. There to drift through liquid landscapes, written in an ancient ink, freed from constraints that we might traipse where those gone before did think. I think you just channeled Merlyn... *shaking my head atchoo* You are another, that makes it look so...EASY...but I know better. Smile, the syntax, internal rhyme, and simply the flow of thought from one stanza to the next...pure poetic honey! ![]() (keeping this one for study!) |

serenity, Ah, "The Merlin Channel", don't you get that on cable? There remains so much that (I think) could be added to this book. Once I got started, it was very difficult to find an appropriate place to pause. I'm looking forward to where this might lead next. Thank you so much . Doc |

DrMoose~ 'Tasks of daylight, hours behind us, seek the solace of our beds, where prepared for us a story, presently, will soon be read.' 'There to drift through liquid landscapes, written in an ancient ink, freed from constraints that we might traipse where those gone before did think.' I could just hug your neck for this piece~ I was transported back through time to the bedside of my children as they eagerly awaited the telling of each night's bedtime story~ I don't know who enjoyed it more ... me or them~ ![]() Thank you for a nostalgic trip~ *HUGS* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

Marge, Yes, that was exactly what I felt and was striving to relate. A simple bed-time story. Thank you, my dear. Doc |

floria, Thank you. A little waking whimsy. I have threatened to never grow up. With a little more work in this direction, look out Peter Pan! Doc |

Sunshine, Thanks, I think you left an "ever" out. Doc Ladyhawke, Thank you. About two months ago I actually started dreaming some verses, some of which I remember bits and pieces of on awakening. ( I hope it's nothing serious). Doc Startime, Your poetic reply is an honor. Thank you. Doc |
