Comfort, speak to me this night
allow my head a soft respite--
solace in a pillow's flight--
dreamlessness in fingers' fit.

Behind the screen
of lidded eye
the repertoire
of acts of life
psychedelic
gel on screen
pulsating
breeding beast
in me...

A fitful toss
and turn of night
as I watch
the Phoenix flight.
A puzzled picture cinema,
unfolding script of enigma--
it is the day I turn away--
my shadows born in cast of light.
