LUPINE DREAMS

       In dreams it seems
I’ve often run
       With wolves;

Capering to
      a quiet stream
         complete with
      reflecting pool.

   Each lupine wanderer
pausing in turn,
        to stare at
            rippling reflection
    before
slaking thirst.

       But when I stare
   no image returns.

                                Water draws back..

           Thirst continues
        unabated until I wake:

and continues still.

smiling, this is a clever poem canuctster. The ending conveys the deeper message that I believe dreams often do, and use of the word "still" had connotations of water to me--both simple and complex at the same time. Just the way I like 'em! Enjoyed.
