with all respect to your keeping childhood treasures with task in hand for more efficient storage measures You mean you never found where all was hid? and put them aside to guard them safely under lid? I just think that they were your reminders of the good times you had with the boys. You would savor the moments shared with them through their countless toys. It must be wonderful to have a mother like you Who would cherish their son's trophies, repair the odd one with glue But you would never discard them cause you had to move you knew their familiar pitter patter was now way out of the groove. life, that challenge to meet the new and discard the old Pray, keep their treasures until your remaining son turns old. hand it to him as a momento of his childhood past bid him to affectionately pass those moments on till the last [This message has been edited by ecrivan (01-28-2002 03:04 PM).] |

Thanks so much for this very thoughtful and beautiful poem, Martin....It really means a lot to me. I haven't been here much this week because Victor and his wife, Courtney have been visiting us. Today is Victor's 27th birthday. I still have lots of his stuff and also lots of his brother's and father's stuff, which I am saving to give to him when he gets a bigger place to live. In the meantime, I have enough space here to hang on to some things. Thanks again for your thoughtfulness, Martin. copyright2002 Lyra Nesius "poetry is life distilled" Gwendolyn Brooks [This message has been edited by Madame Chipmunk (01-29-2002 09:33 PM).] |
