If she hadn’t caught me looking
each time
If she hadn’t held my gaze
without hesitation
If she hadn’t smiled
like she already knew me

I never would have found a voice
to ask her for the dance
I never would have felt
her hand in mine
I never would have lost myself
in the moment

One dance
and suddenly
I can think of nothing else

Duncan,
Good thing she did! I can feel the emotions in the experience. I like this.

You know I love this don’t you? Of course you do. For yes, that was the perfect dance,… this is the perfect dance. And ya know? She can suddenly think of nothing else either. (btw, I love yer mushy side)
You held me tight, my hand in yours
Your heart beat against mine
And danced me into wonderment
A moment lost in time
One dance, yes,  just one dance
I too, re-live within my mind
The memory so precious
I think of nothing else, I find

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Nothing like a really special dance. Always worth taking a chance, isn't it? You sound very happy.

It happens so suddenly when we least expect it.
May you dance the dance and always feel this way.

Beautiful writing Duncan.

I like the way your writings leave me wanting to hear more about it. Like this one. Leaves the Reader to ponder and I like that.

Duncan, this is so romantic! It captures the feeling of that first electric moment so well. You know you have everyone dancing with this one.
