Charlie Brown was wrong!
By Larry Chadwick

Charlie Brown was wrong,
There is no such thing.
He really was a blockhead,
Whatever was he thinking?

It doesn’t even exist,
You know…Good Grief!
How could he assume,
There was such a belief?

I’m not so very young,
Though I was born at night.
I’ve had a little experience,
I wasn’t born last night.

So of grief I know a little,
And what I know is this:
It causes lots of pain,
And never any bliss.

Charlie Brown was wrong,
Grief is not so good.
But if your grief was mine,
I could say I understood.

Good grief, Larry...What a great poem!
and what an original and appealing subject Charlie Brown is!
Very well written, as usual!

Larry darling boy this is utterly utterly supeb, yes I know I’m always saying but that doesn’t mean it’s any less true. You write soooooo well, and this is a fabulous piece.

I could say that the flow is excellent the rhyme scheme divine and the quality is utterly outstanding but you know all that.

What else is there to say except Good Grief this is good!!

I did tell you that I really do love this one didn’t I? Good because I do!!

A clever, witty write - I've read a few poems that had a Charlie Brown theme before and yours is the best!
Very, very well expressed - it's a keeper

Take care,

(smiles) Good grief indeed! (sigh) Such a beautiful poem, sweet freind, yep, it sure is ironic how he depicts grief indeed, for grief is something that should never be celebrated! (big hugggssssss) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this gave me a smile! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Larry, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Melissa,
I'll take that as one of the most generous compliments...thank you. Glad you liked it.

RosePetal,
I'd trade grief for boredom. Thanks.
