In the sunset shadows played
With dusky colors of the receeding day
And the salty winds carried your sigh
Reminiscing of times gone by

On the sand we sat together
Forming memories that last forever
And as we watched the sun's dying rays
I looked at you and remembered
Another time - another place

I heard your laugh and felt your smile
Saw that spark of joy in your eyes
I caught the glance I knew so well
And remembered our secrets we'd never tell

But too soon the moment ended
So fleetingly did it pass
Too many changes had Time rendered
We cannot live in the past

But I'll always remember that day
And your laughter and your ways
'Neath the sunset where shadows played
In that time - in the place

How absolutely beautiful this was, and I have been waiting to read some work of yours, and I am glad that I waited and watched.  Just lovely as usual.
