My grief is like a wave washing over me
It invades my mind and my soul
It sometimes catches me off guard
And burns in my heart a small hole

This burden of grief always follows me
It's so heavy like a ball and chain
I sometimes wish for a heavy downpour
To wash the pain and sadness away

In the still of the night I search for you
So vividly you appear in my dreams
As my eyes open in the darkness
And things just aren't what they seem

So many kind souls are around me
Yet so alone I sometimes feel
Such safety I feel within my dreams
I wish that some of them were for real

So well described!  The burden of grief can be overwhelming.  I enjoyed the read!

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, I believe we all have these feelings every now and then, I too have felt I've dragged a ball and chain by my ankle and stumbled on self-pity too, but I believe as long as we learn to love ourselves and hold our dreams true, they will come true and we will find true happiness and love from the world always! (kiss on cheek) We all love you so much, sweet friend, this is very well-expressed, God Bless You! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton

Suetang, I sure do feel compassion for you. I also feel much grief these days. It is a very difficult thing to get through, writing does help a lot and this is a great poem. floria
