Greatest Gift

Of all the years that seasons weld
Of all the treasures I’ve beheld
Of all the beauty nature does birth
Of all the laughter, all the mirth

Of all the flowers perfumed scent
Of all the rainbow, colored and bent
Of all the moon’s rays oer the lake
Of all the stars in twilight’s wake

Of all the strains of songbird’s call
Of all the majesty of a water’s fall
Of all the blessings of good health
Of all the chances of great wealth

Of all that’s good and kind and right
Of all the gifts that I could cite
My greatest gift and joy in life
Is waking up beside my wife.

Brian Beaudry

I wrote this for my sweet wife in celebration of our 25th anniversary in the summer of 2000. Little did I know it was just the first of many to come.
