Held to this place I no longer desire My life is ash with no burning fire Cold dead and empty is my heart within Because of my pride and another man's sin Would that I could be leaving this place Where I'm bound by desire and filled with disgrace Tied to redemption through pain's aftermath Walking on slowly but held to the path A child of salvation yet no-one saves me Cuts looses the cords and is setting me free Dare if I could be flying from here Where the sins of my flesh are the dirges of drear To cast off this skin that crawls with my fear To find a way of escaping and be not here Yet whenever I leave… I am there too Held in the irony and image of you I would go wandering cast off this sham From you that made me and shaped what I am I look to the sky to see hope held fast But nothing can linger and nothing does last Pain and lament will pass by and by While looking above and rising to try Fly off I should and no longer feel me To rise up on morning wings my hope and my plea Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Keth darling sister of my heart and holder of my souls tears, I was going to say something along the lines of Oh dear another dreary poem, but you know I won’t because it’s not. How often do I have to tell you not to write this well Hmmm? It’s not big and it’s not clever making your sweeter, younger and innocent sister look like a no talent hag. Ahh you see that should get me a sympathy vote Naturally those who know me know that all those statements are not words to describe me but who cares. I told you punishment would be dire, didn’t I? I think darling girl that puts me ahead on points again. You know that this is utterly UTTERLY fabulous and that I truly love it, I’ll still win though ![]() ![]() ![]() Love and warm stuff As always Mushy ![]() ![]() To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace St John ch2 v1 |

Keth, I'm fearful this is the voice of experience as it is so authentic. Wow...an intense and compeling write. So very well done but so draining. ![]() |

Keth darling sister of my heart, Why you might ask am I replying again? Because this deserves to be seen and read so back to the top it goes. I think this is utterly utterly spectacular. The flow the construction the rhythm all combine to make this a truly outstandingly fabulous poem. Rarely is writing this good, certainly this far exceeds my expectations and my expectations for you are always high. YOU are a very good writer and this proves it. Absolutely excellent work ![]() ![]() ![]() Love and warm stuff As always Mushy ![]() ![]() To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace St John ch2 v1 |

"I look to the sky to see hope held fast But nothing can linger and nothing does last Pain and lament will pass by and by While looking above and rising to try Fly off I should and no longer feel me To rise up on morning wings my hope and my plea" Truly amazing words. Pain and lament will pass as all things do - but it is so hard till it does. Julian of Norwich was a Catholic mystic (long, long ago, don't remember the years) and one of her famous lines was, 'and this too shall pass.' Marti " My wrinkles are badges of courage and reveal that I am a Mother." |

Keth, this is truly incredible. You pull the emotions right off the page. Too much else said would be superfluous. Excellent. Cheryl |

This is very heavy writing, Kethy, but beautifully so. I was hoping by the title it was about a kidney stone ![]() |

Kethry such a strong, emotional piece of writing where I am sure there is more or the same in your heart. Excellent piece but so sorry it is of such a painful subject. ~* Carpe' Diem *~ [This message has been edited by Mysteria (01-26-2002 10:42 PM).] |

This poem is so profound, Keth...and so sad. It is also so beautifully written. I wish I could write like this but I know that my writing could never hold a candle to yours. ![]() copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |
