A Poet's Mind

Poetry, the words in line
metered, versed to free the mind
of memories piling, that manifest
or futures paving, beholding quest.

Dreamers dream the romance of
attaching words that speak of love.
Others write of woebegones,
deepest sorrows, griefs and wrongs.

But most of all, we write our hearts,
clinging words that must impart.
Gathering up, released in verse
each Poet's thoughts, to read, immerse.

And when digested, absorbed within,
the Poet's mind, will again begin.

M

SY,I was just reading and thinking how often one thinks a poem is meant for them..and in reality that is the sign of a good  writer..if he can get that close and through to someone that they feel that way...but then again..we must remember a poet writes for the masses... thank you my friend for enjoying, as always, your words touch me, too.

this is fabulous.  Rhyme, the way the lines
carry over to the next, meaning, context, everything,
a really terrific piece.

I loved the way this poem read...effortless.  Though, I'm sure it was not.  Truly enjoyed!
