Oh love, it bellows for thee, calling for the honey bee to bestow upon it beauty that it has desired to see Like a seed awaiting spring, or an angel for its wings. Or a bird waiting for morning, so it can finally sing It doth yearns day and night for an answer to its plight Longing for the sun’s light, for hope to be within sight For it’s pining and waiting, but withers each wintry day It’s carrying on, but fading, torpidly drifting away But it fights on, through mounting woe to find one last springtime show Though dying, is its red glow Soon to burn out beneath the snow © David 2002 [This message has been edited by GenXer (01-20-2002 11:53 AM).] |

I enjoyed the wanting of the elusive breath of fresh air. Love is both the greatest joy to share and the worst kind of heartbreaker. Thank you. |

Nicely said, wait a minute there are courtship songs all year round, depends what side of the earth you're on though, lol. Look at the bright side the days are getting longer ![]() [This message has been edited by ecrivan (01-20-2002 02:24 PM).] |

I like your rhyme scheme in this. I've felt like this before...isn’t it annoying when your heart calls, and there’s nobody listening? If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

Dave darling boy, Oh my! I’m stunned with admiration this has got to be one of you utter utter best. Truly the line and flow in this is absolutely excellent. You are always a fabulous writer, in this you have excelled yourself. If you keep writing like this I shall start running out of superlatives and that would never do would it? ![]() ![]() Love and warm stuff As always Mushy ![]() ![]() ![]() To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace St John ch2 v1 |

Dave, this is very lovely. It reads to me of a summer flower longing to hold on through the winter. Hoping beyond all hope that the cold and lack of sun won't end its beauty. Or is this the heart that still hopes for a visit from the love bug before its too cold to respond. Ahh, I like these pieces with implied meaning. Very nicely done, Sir. Cheryl |
