where nothin is real.

in which money is everything.
I live in a world
where our future holds nothing.
I live in a world
controlled by terror.
I live in a world
blind to its own errors.
I live in a world
infested with racism.
I live in a world
in total schism.
I live in a world
infected by corruption.
I live in a world
searching for redemption.

lone_poet707, thank you for sharing your beautiful poem. Have you ever considered that we live in a world of our choosing. That our perception is everything. And when we choose to live in love, the reality is that our whole world changes to one that is beautiful.

it is a rough unforgiving world at times. we need to have the angst once in a while to draw us to the plights of those around us. thanks for sharing. no go make it a better world! SG

Very candid look at the world around us, lone_poet. Much to ponder in these lines. Perhaps if we all let go of some grudges the world we live in would be a better place. Nice work!

I live in a world
of flowers and trees,
of music and art,
blue skies and seas.
I live in a world
where my little dog runs
and chases his shadow
and eats hot dog buns.
But I also live in world
of terror and fear,
where some people go hungry
every day of the year.
And I see there is much
each one of us must do,
to change the world
begins with me, and you.
Let's get together
and work for world peace,
maybe give the world's homeless
a better life's lease.
Keep your eye and your heart
on the good that you see,
and perhaps we can make Peace
our future reality.

Your poem gives much to think about.
