He spent his time in a bottle of wine,
Sipping his life away through night and day,
To finally find that he did not mind
Being cast away and living that way.

He didn’t shutter at life in the gutter,
It was all the same the wine eased the pain,
It didn’t matter that things weren’t better,
His life would wane there was nothing to gain.

When went empty he beg for a penny,
All that would pass by for spare change he’d try,
That cheep wine would free and be company
So he’s moan and cry until he could buy.

He spent his time in a bottle of wine
Only to find he had poured out his mind.

We have all met him,
most look the other way
atleast you took time to notice
I would have liked to have known his name;
A good thinking poem.
thanks

Yes many have went this way. Thinking they are always in control and then it's too late.

Hey Gloom! I used to travel a lot on business and to pass away the evening as I was often stranded in downtown decaying cities, I would walk around, meet these guys, buy them wine and big macs, and listen to their stories. You'd be amazed! Many were actually happier than our respectable neighbors, next door. Sure, they didn't seem to fit into our society. But many loved Christ, and I was often invited to go to the Salvation Army or some mission place to hear about Jesus. I actually got to the place where I was actually happy for some of these guys. Isn't it all in perception? How could we ever know what is in the heart or soul of another person? Doesn't Christ say judge not?

Just a thought!

Thank you, Mauddib,
He’s just one of the nameless many,
Yes one of the ones that most cross the street to avoid.

Thank you, Strbbux,
Glad you liked, I’m used to people overlooking
Glad you didn’t.

Thank you, inot2b,
Glad to receive your comment, whom amongst us really is in control?

Thank you, Enchantress,
Pleased you liked this.

Thank you, Silver Streak,
Because he loved the least of us, he could love all of us.

Gloom
