*sigh* Another notebook poem. My muse won't let me create surrounded by all these people. Sometimes she is as shy as I am I suppose. Besides..I create better at night. And onward..lol! I post this with thanks to Sven for a wonderful line when my words weren't coming so easily. The line was "the snowy stars"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(January 3, 2002)
Night encloaks a January sky
and drips down onto the world
dressing it in a glimmer covered sheath.
Dreamily, on my cheek, this Night
rests calming hands.
its fingers make tear chasing shadows on skin
that aches to be touched and loved.
Standing outside on a Winter wind kissed balcony
I find dreams of you enrapt into the warmth of my mind
and love for you moving slowly
stirringly
in circles around my dizzy heart.
Listen, My Love, to the sway of night I bend to.
it implores that the decoration of us
bejeweled in the decadencce of Passion
be the snowy stars
whose feet whisper forever
whose eyes duel in song and smiles
on a white velvet carpet
covering the stage of a midnight moonlit snow.
I too have missed the power of your words.  Surely, your muse will let the song of your heart sing again, as it has done here.
Flowing and passionate, as always from your pen.
What light through yon window breaks?  It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.
Your poem has put into words a feeling just out of my reach.  Beautifully done, Jen.
If words coming slowly produce such as this from your pen, my friend, then slow down, let the words come as they will, let them fall gently...they will be, as is this, more beautiful with every slow, lingering read.
Your words were endearing to read,
so silky and smooth!
Jen~This is superb writing!  I believe also that your muse could write anytime, anywhere.  But, if taking your time produces a masterpiece like this one....then so be it!
We shall all try to be very patient.
