This is one my early poems written in Daytona Beach, Fl(1999) around the same time I wrote, "The Earth Is Crying"...anyways, enjoy!!!

My heart beats like a drum
silenty transcending bass
and rhythms to kingdom come.
For every heartbeat,I breath softly
as, I'm becoming more relaxed
while lying on my sore back,
and closing my eyes
while inhaling and exhaling,
to the rhythm of life
as my mind, drifts to the skies,
vibrating, pulsating with desire,
like rings of fire and ascending higher,
above the phoenix as she flies,
with every heartbeat that belies
while my blood, is flowing smoothly
through my veins and arteries,
sending blood into my brain
and unveiling, the message of sleep.

Nate, liked everything about this poem. A slow, sensuous  descent into relaxation.

I liked the way you built the rhyme in these lines. Nice poem.

Thanks Dyme, I don't see how I'm hogging the spotlight when I post like once or twice a month...I admit though, I had my time in the spotlight and I enjoyed it...but I just thought it was time for me to move on so other talented poets can shine mostly, meaning the new ones....peace and love!

Thanks Pilgrimage, for your nice comments!
