During World War II my parents took a jewish girl into their house to protect her from being supported to Auschwitz She was my first second Mom She died yesterday in Israël IRMA she was a beautiful lady and I used to call her Mom changing my dipers she did during worldwar two she'd come the Germans didn't like her for she was from Jewish descent with us she survived the War after wich to Israël she went she married a very lovely man and settled down in promised land from that long gone day on forward it was juicy oranges she'd sent not one single time she passed every spring for fiftyfive years there was a knock on our door when eighty oranges did appear sometimes she came over to visit and there were memories been told when she returned to her own home it was me who'd she close hold my parents went to their place and planted a tree for Israël a sign with my father's name kept those memories well they grew old but not together lived their lives in their own way yet as soulmates they were bonded by the grewsome memories that stay and today I've heard she's gone that used to be mother of me peace of my heart died with her for she was a beautiful lady A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess... Titia, I'm having trouble typing this reply. My tears are all over the keyboard. I lived in Israel on a kibbutz, for one year, working side-by-side with several survivors of Auschwitz and other death camps. Each day I saw those tattoed numbers on their arms, and to this day, I still see them. Bless you and your family for having been part of the kindness and unconditional love that this world so desperately needs. Hugs to you. I am sorry to hear of your loss. |

Titia, may it be of some comfort to you to know that your family saved Irma to live a healthy, lovely life, enabling her to go back to Israel where thousands could not. It is easy to see where your loving heart came from as your family is one of very few who cared Titia. May God comfort you in this loss, and may your memories of her always be in your heart to keep her spirit alive. Take care, and God Bless. |

My deepest heartfelt sympathy, Titia...This is a very moving story, and it leads me to wonder if you have considered writing it down in prose? It's already wonderful, but it has that "something" that makes one want to know more....beautiful. |

My sweet friends, thank you so much for your support. Irma was a fine lady indeed and she married a wonderful kind man, Ernst Holtzinger. I'll phone him to ask his emailaddress so I can send all your support to him, for he is the one who will miss her the most. Titia A rose is a rose is a rose...I guess... |
