Paving the Road to Peace |

I've heard some people are crying out rebuild those towers, quickly please. And I know it is a priority for some and eventually maybe it will be done. But rebuilding shattered reality must be priority number one. Starving children cannot eat steel. Mortaly wounded hearts may never heal. Feed the people and the soul first. Before they all die of hunger and thirst, while our souls die from a greedy purse. The road to freedom can only be paved with love, food, shelter for all and rebuilding a social structure where all people can stand taller than the tallest buildings on earth. Tall buildings can wait. The people cannot. Superman told us that along time ago. It's time to listen and act. |

Thank you for being here, Sudhir. May our hands stretch across the seas and build and encircle this world with the love it needs to begin each day with actions of Peace, not war. |

Hi peaches. I really believe each day we must find ways to make this world more liveable for all peoples of the earth, not just in our own homeland. And we still have much to do in our own back yards to ensure freedom, justice, equality, and to guarantee that everyone shares in prosperity. I'd rather see the money going to basic human needs than to magnificent architecture. |

Kacy: you're cool. I admire your thoughts and values, and I commend you on voicing them. These are some things that more people need to think about. We may not be able to change the world, but we can change ourselves, and if we can live by example, then perhaps the ripple can become a wave... -MVS "If you don't ask: you don't get." -Steve Miller |

Mark, thank you so very much. And thanks for the idea for my new mantra! "May the ripple of LOVE become the Wave of Peace" Now wouldn't that be a wonderful bumper sticker! or T-shirt, or Tattoo? [This message has been edited by Midnitesun (edited 11-16-2001).] |

Wow, Kacy... thank YOU. I am honored (and flattered) I like your idea -- bumperstickers especially, perhaps on the backdrop of an American flag...? For now, it would make a wonderful signature for you... Keep smiling. -MVS "If you don't ask: you don't get." -Steve Miller |

You like it? Me too. And you are right, it could be my 'signature'. Thanks for the idea, and I share it gladly with you. Maybe I should make up some bumper stickers...If they sold well, I could send something better than "Poptarts" to those Afghani children. You think? Actually, I hear they are also getting wheat. Now the milk, the cheese, the rice and beans, the veggies and fresh fruit, the clothing and shoes...and ALL the children need to go to school..including the girls. What a radical idea. This is a wonderful poem, Kacy. You say all the right things here. Steel is a poor substitute for food and hope....let's rebuild the human spirit and belief in good prevailing..Superman doesn't need a tall building to leap |

You are so right, Midnitesun. The wounds of the people effected by this terrible tragedy are far deeper and greater than the loss of a pile of steel and glass. The life lost and effected should be paramount in our hearts and minds. Not replacing a structure. Yes, the buildings were a symbol but it's the people of this great nation that have made it what it is today. BRAVO!! All writing comes |

Thank you, Balladeer, for taking a peaceful time out from your jousting match. And you understood my Superman line perfectly. Lone Wolf, thank you. We have a lot of work to do, don't we? The people of New York haven't even finished digging out and cleaning up yet, and the Afghani people have an even longer road to travel. |

Yes, our work is plenty. It will never rival the work the Afghani people have to do though. Not in a million years. All writing comes |

Thank you, Lone Wolf. Yes, they are still in the dark ages in many ways. Larry, Thank You...LOL about the tattoo remark. (Hopefully you've read Mark's Two Tattoo poem, and SEA's reply to it.) |

JM, thank you very much. There are so many good poems for peace and love at this site, I think we could have a forum just for that and fill up several blue pages. But the variety in here is so exciting, and that's one of the things that makes this board so great. |

Yanno Kacy this was fantastic and true too, but how's about taking it a step further, I would buy one of those shirts of yours if a portion went to a relief fund? Then would not your new saying really move moutains not just clouds? Think about it, I bet you would have a lot of supporters, as I love that saying, "May the RIPPLE of love Become the Wave of Peace", and I loved your honesty in this piece as well, thank you. ~*~ Carpe' Diem ~*~ |

Mysteria, you are wonderful. It has crossed my mind today since writing this, that perhaps this is the time to move forward on this as well as a few ideas that could generate revenue. I welcome any ideas, help, suggestions. Thanks for reading and for your input, which I respect greatly. (And of course, Happy Grandmother's Day...every day.) |

Midnite--Peace is the glue that holds life together..without it we bump into eachother and the frame of understanding falls. This poem is so true..imagine a building made from peace (poetically speaking) Wouldn't it be grand, for it could be built to house the whole world. |

Martie, thank you for this. I like that visual image, a house of World Peace, made up of all the puzzle pieces of Peace, glued together peacefully. PEACE to you and your family, and Happy Grandma's Day to you! |

I agree to take care of the people... I see no value in rebuilding the twin towers...I hope no one suggests that idea...James |
