I am retreating in a vesper
a shadowy muse that will soon
melt….aw, ‘twas so sweet
to have been heard.

New words will be ringing
through sunlight
verses, fresh jasmine
and honeysuckle ‘fore the spring.

I am growing weaker ….
but there an inexplicable harmony
which will sound pure-
as drops divide
mysteries that shall never be explained
but remain in secret form
and yet, peace will be all
that much sweeter
from the division.
She must give up….
for a time and only for a time-
the one thing that she craves,
for peace.

I pray for her strength....
