Never In The Door Of MeOld has given one memories replaced dreams with reminiscence turned fairy tales into reality put grey in ones hair wrinkles on ones face brought the Chariot closer to ones door. But never in the door of me has another stepped to take your place though my heart has sometimes dreamed and thought – wondering…If Old has seen one through years of you languishing in the warmth of knowing, that everytime the door of me opened, it was the love of you that stepped across the sill. Old sits by the fire with you two kids well past youth, shoulders touching, the breath of one – not two, and never in the door of me will another take the place of you. w.james beard, jr. (c)november 2001 Goodbye Stood on the porch where we so often sat, together. Whispered your name… the wind took it away, lofted it high, carried it across the yard, the trees, and I thought I heard a fading goodbye… Sat in your rocker, could still feel your warmth, the touch of your skin, the love in your heart, the way you touched my hand; said your name aloud… the wind wisked it off the porch, and I thought I heard a hurried goodbye. Walked inside, room to room, out again, placed my hands on the back of your chair, screamed your name… the wind stopped and I heard a soft goodbye, goodbye… wesley james beard, jr. © November 2001 |

I really like the way you crafted these pieces, good sir. The reminiscing mind of the aged is a magical instrument at times and the fact that no one ever replaced HER says it all. Very, very nice writing |

This is love indeed, when one cannot and will not forget the love of ones life. Beautiful thoughts and beautiful memories here. Wonderfully written pieces If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |

This is such a wonderful love tribute. Your memories touched my heart and mind with the same gentleness with which you touched your loved ones rocking chair. Thank you very much for sharing. |

---Mr. B. - having you like and comment on it means much to me - Thanks! ---Tracey - tickled you think so - appreciate it. ---Midnitesun - this from my Alaskan friend (still snowed in??) makes me feel wonderful! Thank you so much. ---James - really appreciate it my man. ---PoeticLicense - wow - humble one here appreciates that mucho. ---Coco, me friend - I'm honored that anyone would save any of mine in their library. Feeling really SPECIAL now! Thank you - I needed to feel special today. ---Sunshine - dear friend - yep I was a little concerned with the title too - it's what I started with (only just now got back in and lo! - noticed the title is wrong - should me "door of me" not "of you" sorry). Popped in to mind then had to put something around it. Glad you liked the way it came out. jimmy ---Tara - awwww man, I'm really tickled you read and enjoyed. Gone to this wonderful state of Texas yet?? ---Martie, Having you like what I write means much to me - thanks for stopping in. ---Sven - Thank you so much. Appreciate your kind words. Gee, been a long time since I've had time to answer comments like this. Really miss doing so - and my lack of it is purely time-constrained; not a function of desire. If I could follow my desire - I'd LIVE in Passions Forums. Thanks much to all of you who read and comment - or just read as I so often do. jwesley [This message has been edited by jwesley (edited 11-26-2001).] |
