I am the Nighthawk I have become the Nighthawk, Cocooned in "Phillies" welcome, Cast aside the floundering sugar cube luckless victim of the cappuccino triangle lost in withered grey eyed dregs, And she, hypnotised by zippo's bright distortion, all has been said together and alone, Fear from all, to end this moment, this cathedral silence, Plum lined straight between dusk and dawn the fruitless quest for sociability, To sever this umbilicus, to wander home, voices silent hearts entombed, So we stay in "Phillies" welcome, The Nighthawks and me. Dedicated to Edward Hopper 1882-1967, His paintings inspire me, especially "Nighthawks" |

The line of "cathedral silence" pulled me into the tomb of echoes... well done, Sir! |
