The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-11-20 09:38 AM

What tragic beauty love can be
sunny days under darkened moon
desire to touch, to hold, to free
a dance only slightly off tune.

Ocean of dreams in a sea of pain
brilliant stars in an onyx sky
resurging joy, deluge of rain
warmth of hope and a cold goodbye.

All so perfect until it's not
possibilities live anew
it's the peace for which all was fought
till the dove and the raven flew.

This one is deceivingly deep for its short and simple form, Sandra.  I enjoyed the wordplay and dual meanings in some of your imagery.  I like this one a lot.

Very true words, dear. Love can hurt sometimes, and sometimes it seems like it hurts to much to actually be love. But love is not perfect, and without the pain, we would never relish the pleasure as much as we do. *BIG HUGS* I hope your love fulfills you.

Sandra....all very well written emotions..
I hope that one day you will see the opposing
side of them....and experience the joy of
love from both sides...not just one..

*sigh* it is too bad but true that love is a contradiction. It can be so painful but when both are working on it it can be wonderful. Very well put, Sandra. **hugs**

Sandra, this is a wonderful poem.  The contradictions of love, the light and the dark of it...so very well expressed.

I'd say the possibilities are always endless.  Sometimes we see them coming, sometimes we just don't.  Perhaps it's better that way.  Deep write, Sandra.

by the grace of God.

It is sad when the tune changes and the music fades...who would have ever thought the melody of love could play out into a tragedy.
Makes you want to leave so that you don't have sit through the ending.

I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving Sandra.

so here I am reading through all your writes that I have missed during my leave of abscence and I come across this... wow.

I have formed my own meaning to this; behind every bright hopeful light there looms a dark shadow just waiting to present itself...

But the way this is written.. really really amazing..  I had a favorite of yours from awhile back... but it has now been replaced with this awesome poem.

Thank you.

Sandra, once again you write my heart with this one - I know the contradictions of love all too well.  This really is excellent writing~
