White Bird White bird of the skyway, great silvery jet Takes me from places I’ll never forget From hills overlooking a vaste gleaming bay My dear Coronado, a house on the cay Winged ship of sweet journeys, dream maker of flight Who carried me there in the dark of the night Now takes me away from a place I adore On the Mexican border and fringe of the shore I once sailed the sea upon ripples and foam And now sail the skies that are taking me home I promise that soon I will come back to you On a white bird that sails in a skyway of blue Elizabeth Santos |
