One Wish AMK December 31, 2001 If I had but one wish tonight It would be to be by your side To narrow the distance between us I'd swallow my foolish pride But I am no magician No crystal ball do I possess But I do wish us love always I pray for our happiness If I had but one wish tonight On this night we call New Years Eve I'd wish a fairytale to come true In true love, I do believe But I am no storyteller No golden fables can I make come true Quite simply my darling My love is all I can offer you If I had but one wish tonight It would be that you were there or I was here As silently the pain inside becomes more My fustration shows in the way of a tear But I am no wizard No magic spells can I cast Just my undieng devotion to you As I pray for our love to last If I had but one wish tonight I'd wish this one more than all the above I'd wish that you would always know how I feel That you'll always be a witness to my love Though I'm no magician or wizard And can cast no magic spells it's true I do have but one thing to offer A love that is both powerful and true When I really think about it Though I'm just a woman indeed This love that we share Is all we'll both ever need "Just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't |
