Take flight across the dusky moors, The scent of heather clinging to your hair. Mist rising from thorn tangled glens, Ride like ghosts By your side to where You join with me, In bracken thick. Enfold your hands In mine. Entrust in me your secrets deep, Whispers of pain, Scars so deep, Anger buried ‘neath smile tight, Weary after your long flight, Through webbed and steamy Clouds of haze, To finally fall Spent and dazed, Into the comfort of arms so soft, That will hold you Through the night And day And keep like treasures, Your worries and cares, Until once again You dare To take flight across the dusky moors. © Copyright 2001 Sandra Hoisington - All Rights Reserved |

(smiles) Yes, may we all let our spirits take flight and partake through the anger and tears to find peace and solace and love in each of our hearts! I love the flow and imagery in this, and felt the touch of the heather and the cool wetness of the misty moors. A keeper poem. Thanks! |
