Are you far enough above me, now?
Is there safety in such a height?
To protect your innocent spirit,
From powerful loves might.

Have you risen to where the clouds catch breath?
Are you sitting near the moon?
Are the stars leaving bright dust in your hair?
Can you hear a comets tune?
Are there Angels near your perfect form?
Do their wings wrap you softly about?
Do my whispers reach your deaf ears?
Have you blocked my pleadings out?

Are you content there in the shadow of day?
Do you think of me come the night?
Will you search your heart?
Find me one last chance,
To set the present right?

Is there room for me, in your part of heaven?
For I think I’ve found my wings.
How I wish I could fly up to you,
And sit where the songbird sings.

But you’ve risen to where the clouds catch breath.
You are sitting near the moon.
The stars leave bright dust in your hair.
You listen to a comets tune.
And Angels guard your perfect form.
Their wings wrap you softly about.
My whispers reach not, your deaf ears.
You’ve blocked my pleadings out.
You are far above me now.

The picture of Heaven you've painted here is gorgeous, Sandra. The ending of this poem is so sad though. Well done, I liked the poem.

God bless America, my home sweet home.
