THE HOOT OWL AND I

Sometimes I hear a lonely Hoot Owl's call
And see his bright eyes through the darkened wood
As mournful nights do suddenly befall
He hoots again as if I understood..

I wonder if he thinks the same as me
As I sit crying on my cabin porch
Our hoots and cries send echoes through each tree
Our lonely hearts are like a beacon torch..

For both of us, our mates have gone away
They've spread their wings, and taken off in flight
To be with other lovers come what may
And left us here to live the lonely night..

Sometimes I see the Hoot Owl's silhouette
Whenever a full moon hangs in the sky
Somehow we always sing a sad duet
Unto our loneliness ... we testify..

Joyce, I absolutely love this. It reminds me so much of the loon's cry. And I do understand. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Your magnificent talent flows through each word you pen filling them with emotion. I am just glad that you have such a talent for writing that which is not personal experience or my tears would have joined with the hoot owls cries. **big hugs** very, very well done.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Joyce, this is so so sad, my heart goes out to all the true loons of the world through vision that are betrayed in the flight of love! (big hugggsssss) So sad but beautiful, sweet friend, your words are always a delightful treasure! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Joyce, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

J. Lady...

As usual,  another exceptional write...
and I like the call of the owl too...
I listen to the owls at night when out fishing.

Two mates calling back and forth...So
beautiful,  but sometimes sad...
