Loose leaf papers on my bed I search for the first poem I wrote long ago So subtle my love I missed you in the day and loved you passionately all night How I loved you then My first poem goes like this: There be no poetry in my heart without you The emotions that you stir inside flow through my pen painting a picture of our love in it's glory in it's misery You make my poetry yours |

Lovely. Makes me wish I had my first poem I ever wrote. Probably was on a scrap of paper tossed out long long ago. Good write. ~hugs, Nancy~ ~I've loved you forever, in lifetimes before.~ |

I definately can't remember my first love poem but I can remember a few lines a beautiful woman penned long ago that went something like this... "Now Terry he is dandy and James he is handy." Strangely thats all I remember. She knew both me and my brother Terry and she was sort of comparing us. The handy comment was in reference to my wandering hands...seemed I couldn't keep my hands off of her...and I do still think of her occasionally...she was a strong presence and one of my favories...James |

I don't remember my first poem, I think it was about unrequited high school love. Yours is much more beautiful! |

LOL! I remember my first poem. I was 5 years old and my mother sent me upstairs to clean up my room. I went up, wrote a poem entitled "Dirty Sheet, the Ghost" a little spoof about how messy my room was and that it was Dirty Sheet's fault, laid the poem on my pillow, crawled out the window, slid down the tv antenna pole and went running with my dog. She was waiting with both barrels when I got home Thanks for bringing back the memories, walker...I think |

Walker, this is an interesting, thought- provoking poem. I'm trying really hard to remember what I first wrote. I thought I had it almost in front of me, and then I read you-know-who's reply about escaping with his dog. LOL. I'll have to re-think about my first scribble, which may have come about the same time I learned not to dribble. |

ah, you've stirred up memories here Walker. Like PoetDevine, mine too was about a high school infatuation..that was many moons ago, but I probably still have it somewhere. Thanks for the memories. Good poem If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please? |
