standing on a shadow's lace

Editor

but,
he does not dance
with me
in angry
circles red
no steps
shredding my thoughts
enticing me
to think instead
can not mince
his words
trying to impress me
with glamour
knowing
I have vocabulary
just not
the rules of grammar
can’t help but write
my emotions
sometimes they run
asunder
slows me back
to written reality
calls me…
a wonder
edits me
to teach me
changing my art
in the practice
of my poetry
my best interest
is in
his heart

"I have already paid for all my future sins."  Sade...(King of Sorrow)

the dance of the editor and writer is a difficult one, but if nurtured can work well in the interests of both. wishing you success in your work. Nice write.

Helen,
I suppose that's what editors are for, huh? But I like your style!

Helen - You've let an editor into your life?  What were you thinking, woman?!!!  Get him (or her) out of there, quick!  I do like your poem.  Please don't edit it.  Hugs

The editing is always the choice of the artist. Well said, Helen.

God bless America, my home sweet home.
