Marti She claims possession of the moon For she bestows its light In phrases as her mind construes This princess of the night She touches the untouchable With tip of poet pen In silken words and tender verse The moon is born again Her thoughts are images from eyes That see a different world Unwrapping visions in a phrase So delicately unfurled Exotic thoughts we couldn’t conceive Now bathe us with their grace As words like stars around the moon Are gently laid in place Poetic layers blanket us With life’s most simple view And fill us with celestial glow Of heaven’s most splendid hue For this, the radiant moon displays A smile upon her face For this we all are truly blessed By Marti, poet of grace Samantha The world had yet to smile again The winds had yet to sing The prayers and wishes for a child Were swept on angel wing For just above a mother’s heart In shadows of the morn A guardian angel waited For a child to be born She spread the prayers to all around And whispered her sweet name And in a mother’s joyful tear Of love, Samantha came A child filled the room with love A tiny child of grace And with her birth the world became A much, much better place So many prayers, so many hearts To greet this precious name Samantha, dear Samantha We will never be the same This is the gift of greatest worth Your face, your hands, your love, your birth Elizabeth Santos [This message has been edited by Elizabeth Santos (edited 11-17-2001).] |

Liz, my dear poet friend...no hug, no smile, no poet's words can express my feelings about how dear you are, and how wonderful these verses make me feel. I love you, dear lady...and look forward to seeing you again! |

How very lovely a tribute to our lady of Passions that can take a word and wring it from all its worth! And for her dear new Granddaughter as well, from "my favorite poet" who should have been published long before now!! WOW LOOK! This is my 4000th post, and it is posted to two of my very favorite people, maybe this will bring you both luck? I sure hope so! Love you both! Oh Elizabeth ... this is truly splendid, both in flow and the genuine heartfelt espressions that are woven through these lines. An outstanding tribute, beautifully written! Best wishes, /Kit |
