The Shores of Alone

The list goes on and on you see
much more than those under the tree
The changes that I want to make
the ways I hope to live awake.

There are the usual, you know
I'll get in shape-it will not go
what's left of my exterior
will through sheer will stay off the floor.

Then there's the great published debate
Someone will read-why should they wait?
They'll beg for my writing to grace
the top ten list, my dreamed of space.

True love, it must be on the list
for who can live without such kiss?
And never mind your heart could break
Love's ever worth the chance you take.

I thnk I'll learn how to define
the aspects of the greatest wine,
and learn some more philosophy
or physics, a new field for me.

I yet apire to visit France,
in Italy and Greece, I'll dance.
Walk lushest vinyards of the world
see many nations flags unfurled.

And write of course, this never ends
my words and I are closest friends.
They speak to me when no one will
and friends of blue will answer still.

So Happy New Year one and all
now let's go to a fancy ball
and dream of better days to come,
I know I'm not the only one.

Nothing is out of reach right? I don't make resolutions but this kind of has me thinking maybe I will!

I love your new years list Sandra. I can sure relate to the getting into shape one…though I’m too lazy to do too much about it.Lol. But my favourite of course is:

How true. Love is always worth the chance isn’t it? You can’t win without the gamble.

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Excellent write. The bus leaves on New Years Eve @ 6 pm - we will be waiting for you and bring your list. 2002 will be a great year for everyone. Just keep writing.
