it's morning it's quiet it's cold it's waiting for the day to start for all when all are in agreement that commencing is apropos the morning's been so long for this poet on the mend not mending from illness but mending from pain placed upon the world at large when terrorism rained down dust and particles and lives cut short for long for all eternity's gravity as we sing our mournful song the nation seems remain in the churchyard on the hill dangling on a thread when our hearts took a spill tears and blood dripped down and dried up in the dust while crumpled metal turned to grains of particled red rust yet birds are flying free taking wing to fly in spite of all that man brought horrendously to lie as we sit in the cold of December's winter days we look to crimson light and jeweled laden rays our praise is sent in flickers of twinkling garland lights as we seek the peace that comes in our silent, holy nights our Christmas time of reason when it makes sweet sense to love in response to the gift that was sent down from above our weeping is two-fold filled with sorrow and with light as we mourn our empty chairs and rejoice the holy night © December 2001 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

(tears fall down my cheeks) Oh Virginia, this is indeed such a heartwrenching season, and my heart goes out to all those who lost part of their families in the tragedy. (wipes tears) This is so very sad but beautiful, sweet friend, I pray all can embrace with hope His Holy Light. (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Virginia, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |

So very many neighbors of this Nation are going through just this...which brings to mind the beautiful words I have heard recently when asked "where was God?" He and his Son were with them and the rest of us and will stay with us, as we sort through the rubble to find the reason. Thank you, Virginia. |

VAS, from the ashes the phoenix shall rise...your words are so beautiful. Keth Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind. Unknown |

Thank you, everyone, for reading and replying...and faterider...The pain is not physical but the pain of the aftermath of the horrendous event on Sept. 11, alluded to in the poem. We will all mend, but we cannot forget the lives lost. Virginia Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
