Christophobia Fear of Jesus Pornography threatened Afraid of His word Sixties immorality Breathing its last breath On the ropes Laws to be enforced Scratching to hold on To infanticide Still crying for murderers Candles at their executions To Hell With victims Twisted perverted logic They probably deserved it Burn Ashcroft at stake Won't happen dear sickos Enforcer is here Your number's finally up Go back Where we found you Hidden under rocks So slimy and cold Reign of perversion over Clinton liberals lost power Protecting no longer Turn off black lights In God we trust Back in Where it belongs As it always has |

We can only pray for the day when all will be made right. This is an awful world we live in and it is up to each of us to try our best to put love and beauty back in it. Very powerful poem, Sir Robert. It sure made me stop and think. Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams. |

it becomes difficult for me to gauge whether or not something i write is 'powerful' or not when this is said of nearly every poem... as for me, i wouldn't use the word 'powerful', but certainly 'thought provoking'. i had a little trouble with the politics, though. seems to me there's a way of invoking a great deal more power (thus making it 'powerful') by leaving politics out of a poem about christ... everything else, however, i agree with completely. final thought? i enjoyed, for the most part. |
