Grasping at Thoughts My pen is now grasping at thoughts that appear Like the wing of a butterfly ever so near Within reach of fingertips’ wide open bloom Unable to touch its fine powdery plume To seize is to lose the most precious of dreams To capture a phrase is to cage the unseen The softness of verses innately departs At its will from an intimate place in our hearts The visions come creeping and impishly tease Like a butterfly’s powdery wing to the breeze To grasp at a thought, to entice from a pen Is to capture a love that has come to an end Let the thought bathe in pinks of the warm dawning sun Just as love, it will softly and silently come |

Dear Poetess Liz... this is stunning in its imagery and metaphors intend and it is more timely for me than you could know...my ever elusive muse leaves me grasping and begging for every word... so I will take comfort in your closing couplets wisdom. I need that butterfly to light on my pen and give my voice back. Beautiful write Poetess of Grace. You're the hidden cost and the thing that's lost in everything I do. |

Oh dear Liz ... you have captured that moment so perfectly, when the words and phrases drift just softly outside our grasp ... then come tumbling into our minds with a purpose. I loved this my friend. Best wishes, /Kit |

I wish they would come a little more often to me. Beautifully expressed, Elizabeth! |
