Deep in the heart

0 posted 2001-12-21 11:06 AM

Death I embrace thee closely to my breast.
I do not fear thee, not even a whit.
Take mine living life, discard it all lest
My heart finds its way back to empty pit.

How can they call it heaven or divine?
Passing brings all those unwanted goodbyes!
Nevermore to feel thy lips upon mine.
Nevermore to sink deep into thine eyes.

We pledged our love, dear, for eternity.
I begin this trip without thee my love,
I travel toward new community,
A place for waiting and watching above.

Ever will I watch and wait for thee, dear,
To be by my side and forever near.

Fool, said my Muse to me, look in thy heart and write.

This has a beautiful 19th century quality to it. Haunting and ethereal. Lovely Interloper.
