season window fronts dressed in cotton snow
stately fashions on mannequins lit from below...
material cuts lie open for warmer seasons lend
to crisply dressed women decked in the latest of fur trends

Is there any logic to where the look will go next?
bust lines migrate down in winter, who will contest;
is it a classic garb her man has chosen for an evening
on the town
or is it a somber gown to wear when her lover's in the ground?

I admire the new looks, dress designers portray
am the man in a time machine eyeing women fashion displays;
watching cotton fabrics gently kiss the flesh about
the knee,
as women wonder next where their garters will next be.
