Her soul’s like crystal snowflakes Broken easily amid the dust Shattered from the pleadings ‘You must! You must!’ She wants to dissolve like ice Wants to just to melt away But icy breath of haunting lovers Entreat her yet to stay Trampling her gentle heart Devouring her life’s source All the while, lovers claim ‘I love only you, of course!’ When her spirit is sapped Picked dry and left to die Lovers will ne’er look back Nor do they hear her sigh A melting tear of crystal Lies now beside her cheek Would life have been so bad If she were not so meek. |

Poet, It's not supposed to be like this, surely the meek will inherit the earth...if that's ok with everyone. This poem had me smiling softly at first and then it broke my heart!  (tears fall down my cheeks) Sooooooo heartbreaking, sweet friend, I could feel the woman's sorrow behind these words, and pray with all my heart that she can love again soon and never feel this meek again. (sad sigh) So sad but well-written, sweet friend, your words always touch the heart deeply! (kiss on cheek) You have such a beautiful heart, sweet friend, thank you for sharing!
