How little did I realize as you slumbered in my womb That you'd be the risen Savior Who conquered that borrowed tomb I remembered how the angel said, I'd be blessed by God above and when I gazed into your face all I felt was perfect love Oh I knew you were special God's perfect chosen one But when I held you in my arms you were my firstborn son So many things left unsaid So many things to ponder I watched you grow into a man and my heart was filled with wonder I couldn't keep you to myself for you were God's own son You came to offer eternal life to each and everyone Your message was so new and strange, it was hard to comprehend. To see you make the blind to see or watch the cripple mend, caused the leaders of our faith to feel threatened, filled with hate. They schemed, "How can we kill this man before it gets too late." And oh how my heart did break as they nailed you to that cross! I could only weep and say "I'll never survive this loss." But early on that Easter morn, all that was left inside that tomb was the burial shroud you'd worn and two angels in that room. “Don't be sad, there's no need to cry for you knew the Christ would suffer and die.” “But God has raised Him, death He's slain.” “He sits at the Father's right hand where in glory He'll now reign.” Oh precious Son, this child of mine, how blessed among women was I, to bear God's sacrificial Lamb Lord Jesus, our Savior Divine Cheryl McClellan 3/19/2001 |

Please excuse me for replying again. Just trying to figure out why my last reply did not move this poem back to the front. |

Just thought I'd give this a boost. My replies did not move it back to the front so I try again. Cheryl |

This is a beautiful poem...I can see why its special. Welcome to Passions. I look forward to more of your work... by the way...this forum no longer has "self bump"...only replies from other poets takes it back up..not when we reply to our own work. Ron felt in such a busy forum that would be more fair. If you have any questions the moderators here are great |
